Qualifying went very well, as Austin was able to post the 2nd quickest time and more importantly, qualified inside the invert. Austin drew a one out of the hat, meaning he would be starting from the pole for the race.
At the start of the race, Austin pulled out to a sizeable lead. With no pressure from behind, he was able to focus on hitting his marks every lap. On about lap 20, Austin noticed an abnormal sound coming from the car. The noise got progressively worse and eventually lead to a catastrophic rearend failure. Austin would not be able to finish the race. "I am really dissappointed that the rearend broke, but ti is still encouraging to see how well we ran for the first 20 laps. We will get it fixed up and come back next race."
